Everything you need to know about Soft Washing…
Soft Washing vs. Pressure Washing & Power Washing
Soft Washing versus Pressure Washing & Power Washing: What are the differences?
Pressure washing has been around for over 75 years and is a great way to clean “hard” surfaces. As their name implies, these systems use extremely high-water pressure to remove dirt and debris, and under the right conditions can be a great cleaning solution.
Pressure washers are made for both residential and commercial applications, but both units can be very dangerous and need to be operated by knowledgeable and careful operators. The extremely high-water pressure can literally remove someone’s skin or cause flying debris that could harm operators or others in the area.
Power Washing - When & Where?
Power washing is more effective than a pressure washer because of because of the addition of extremely hot water, which can reach temperatures of over 200 degrees. The hot water aids in cleaning surfaces and can be compared to your home dishwasher that cleans in a similar fashion. Hot water systems are more costly to purchase and operate, but think about the last time you cleaned your dishes using only cold water?
Many operators use pressure washers improperly and cause both immediate and long-term damage to surfaces. At Right Way, we only use hot water-power washing on hard surfaces such as brick, cement and hard metals. We don’t use high pressure on wood, vinyl, stucco, EIFS or Hardie board.
One of the biggest mistakes is using high water pressure on sidings. This can seriously damage the siding by removing protective layers, and it doesn’t kill bacteria.
Overall hot power washing is a great way to clean hard surfaces, remove dirt, grease and to provide a deep cleaning before sealing a surface.
What is Soft Washing?
SoftWash has been around for about 35 years and is a great way to treat “delicate” surfaces.
Soft Washing relies on chemicals and detergents for cleaning and uses very low water pressure. Right Way SoftWash runs on deep marine batteries and uses 120 PSI water pressure, which is safe to the touch like an ordinary water hose spigot. Compared to a gas generator-run pressure washer, soft wash battery-powered cleaning is very quiet (less disruptive to your home or business).
SoftWash solutions are mostly used by commercial applicators but can be dangerous to humans, animals, surfaces and vegetation if improperly used.
Right Way only uses 100% biodegradable products from major manufacturers, and we don’t experiment like many others who try and save money by concocting their own potions.
Some of the most common SoftWash uses:
